National Teams Announced
Further coaching changes have been confirmed: Sergei Andrianov
is the new UB coach replacing Stolyar. Emin Garibov and Elena Zamolodchikova are now NT coaches for the juniors, how spectacular for them! Komova, who's medical condition remains unclarified has been demoted to the reserve team along with a number of rising stars: Uliana
Perebinosova, Valeria Saifulina, Alexandra Shekoldina, Varvara Zubova, Viktoria
Gorbatova, and Elizaveta Kochetkova.
I won't take this list too seriously. I think this might have more to do with a complex funding system rather than reflecting the reality of the situation. For instance, Afanasyeva and Mustafina have both made the 2017 NT team even though we know at least one of them will be indisposed this year. And then they have Skrypnik on the team over girls like Elizarova... do we really need a side by side comparison of their competition results? For now, I'll assume this list was put together to maintain funding for certain coaches/athletes and to make sure the general support of the program has investment by keeping star veterans on the team. Even though it's a new year, perhaps sports programs in Russia have a fiscal year that does not align with the calendar year (similar to how some non-profit organizations work). Just trying to make sense of it guys. One thing that's certain is when Nationals comes, all of them will compete together, so we'll have an accurate depiction of what our depth looks like in March. Here's the list (x):

Half of them will have not valid licences by 2017 worlds, some of them will have not valid FIG licences already in march before Euros and remembered all that Akhaimova( girl without licences) pre-Rio alt show it's looks fun :)
ReplyDeleteRight. good point.
DeleteI recognise all the A team & most of the B as having competed internationally so what is this license ?
ReplyDeleteBtw sad to see no sign of Sokova .Thats an 18 month injury layoff although she briefly made it to the B team 12 months ago . Any one with further info ?
The FIG license allows them to represent Russia internationally. Is the FIG license good for four years or two? Either way I think most of these girls are covered (Shekoldina needs one and Nabs needs hers renewed).
Delete2 years. They're not hard to get on shortish notice.
DeleteWaiting for the moment when Valentina Rodionenko be a babysitter for Aliya baby, when Mustafina be doing again all that tumblings, bars and spins at trainings onto Round Like gym :DDD tbh i will die to see it :P
ReplyDeleteWell according to Vika's father doc give her green light for trainings and she will be back as soon as possible, but she still fills the pain . The rest can be found here http://www.moe-online.ru/news/view/357248.html
ReplyDeleteAccording to Valentina Rodionenko women Team Russia for Euro 2017 will be Tutkhalyan, Melnikova and Spiridonova( also Paseka will miss it 100%) and for men Belyavskiy, Ablyazin and Kuksenkov will skip it too doctors find kidney stones in David http://rsport.ru/artist_gym/20170213/1116284142.html
ReplyDeleteSpiri looked in decent shape in Iceland . Beam has lovely new mount & floor spins looked improved .
DeleteYes I saw, I will talk about all of this soon. I'm sorry I've neglected the blog but there was something very important that had to get done within a timeframe so...priorities, y'know. I'm back now!
DeleteAccording to Komova's father if she be back in shape shell be back in main team LOL also she will skip all major comp in 2017(euros, worlds) and full 2017 season will be for her recovering http://tass.ru/sport/4028089
ReplyDeleteI don't think it is a case of skipping these comps . However she does need to strengthen her back & ankle& some gym & related conditioning is the best way.
DeleteIf she really could physically & wanted to , she could get a world class beam within 3 months ,bars 6 , vault 9 & floor 12 months . So lets give her that year & stop piling on .
