Another win for the Queen, who just got voted Glamour's Sportswomen of the Year! A big shoutout to all who voted every.single.day. for her to win against such fierce competition. 2016 has been so incredible for her!!! She competed at Euros with 50% of her potential yet still won 1 silver and 2 gold medals, she defended her Olympic title and was the third most successful gymnast in Rio, she found love, she got married, and now she is being noticed all throughout her country- by both the populace and the mainstream media- for the treasure she is. Suitable words can't describe how thrilled I am that it's going this way for her. It brings me back to this article when I stopped stressing about all the negative what-if's that might happen and reconciled myself to the fact that she is courageous enough to face her obstacles and strong enough to come out on top. All gymnastics observers (fans and detractors) know what it's taken her to safely and happily reach this point in her life so molodets, Aliya, you deserve these moments of recognition.
