Russia Leading at the Halfway Point of EChAcro
From the UEG
newspage:
"Russia was
the only nation to win more than 1 gold. Their mixed pair Viktoria Aksenova and
Alexander Dubovitskiy beat the host nation’s Daniel Blintsov and Sneschana
Sinkov and Great Britain’s Finlay Cochrane and Kirsten Owen, while Russia’s
women’s group beat Israel and Great Britain. The Portuguese women’s pair Rita
Fereira and Joana Moreira qualified in first place to the final where they also
dominated, beating Great Britain’s Olivia Proctor and Jessica Gledhill by
0.050. Russia’s Yasmina Ishankulova and Anna Itcenko were third. Great
Britain’s Sam Large and Hector Kinghorn clinched the men’s pair title scoring a
massive 28.200 to beat Russia’s Semen Lvov and Dmitri Golovachev and Ukraine’s
Mykyta Lukakhin and Mykyta Nikitin"
Elegance.
Aesthetics. Body Control. These are the pillars of acrobatic gymnastics, so
who's surprised Russia is dominating? Congratulations to all the Age Group
gymnasts that have participated thus far, and good luck to the junior and
senior elites still to come. The Acro World Championships is in six months, giving
Russia enough time to strengthen their programs and take on the top
international teams of China and USA. Onward, Team Russia!
