ICYMI: Euros Edition

Tickets are selling well so we're in for an electrifying environment. Here, they prep the arena for PT.

European Championships starts  Wednesday, 4/19. The live broadcast for quals and all finals is here.

TVR will broadcast the Podium Training (4/17 and 4/18), which will not be shown by the UEG. Might be geoblocked but it's here.

Check out the subdivisions for Russia: (MAG) (WAG) Remember that these Euros are individual so the guys/gals won't compete together in quals like they would for a team event. It's annoying for us fans, but good prep for World's which will follow the same format.

The startlist will be provided 24 hours before the competition is set to begin.

The schedule for Euros is (times listed as eastern standard time, USA):

Wednesday, April 19

It's gonna be a killer for Americans to watch Euros during the workweek at these times but for everyone else, see how you fare using this time converter.

The girls have arrived but, as Lena let us know on her IG page, it was a long night. The team's flight got cancelled last minute and they had to take another route, so they spent the night in Istanbul and left for Cluj the next morning. They're tired but will spend the day sleeping (note: this happened yesterday so their first training should be going on today). (x)

From Grebs we learn that Paseka will do an amanar and a lopez. Kapi has upgraded to a 6.2 UB routine, Elena will add in the triple twist on floor (Pray for her), and all three girls will do AA with coaches deciding to send Melka over Spiri as the third all-arounder. (x)

The guys have also arrived and from head coach, Alfosov, we learn that they're in good health and high spirits. Ignatyev and Dalaloyan are the AAer's while the rest hope for specific event finals. He feels the code had changed very drastically for the men because the difficulty has dropped on a number of skills and the judges are being guided by stricter measurements so the e-score is tougher. Consequently they've reevaluated what a good score should look like for their All-Arounders and these Euros are seen as a testing ground for what adjustments need to be made for World's. The main rivals are GB, FRA, UKR, SUI, and GER but the guys looked good at the last three regulated training's and received good marks from independent judges invited to Round Lake. (x)

A vlog from the indispensable NIkita Nagorny about the team's travels to Romania. The boys are always having fun no matter what!
