Angelina Melnikova is recovering from her hamstring injury, and according to Valentina, has reinstated her full difficulty. Reports from the training hall say she was very shaky on beam, but there weren't any hardcore gymfans around who could tally her d-scores for us.

Seda is training her full in off beam, and while her on-beam work is looking stable, she's had a lot of falls on the dismount. I think she's probably not putting the needed amount of energy into it...but be careful, it could lead to a last minute injury if she should fall wrong just once. Seda might be increasing her vault difficulty from the podkopayeva to the mustafina!

Shelgy is training a silvias. Please succeed next quad; such a hard worker.

The 2020 Olympics will have five new sports to make USA more dominant. They are: karate, skateboarding, baseball, surfing, and sport climbing. Meanwhile, the continuation and addition of professional sports, like golf, take away more berths from ameatuer sports... like gymnastics. Not even the golfers, basketball or tennis players care about winning an Olympic medal- it is not the crowning achievement in their sport- but the IOC loves money money money. Anyways, the new sports are part of what the IOC calls 'the trend to modernise the Olympics with the urbanization of sports.' I'm sorry, but how many countries have baseball, or host bigtime tournaments for skateboarding? I call it the trend to capitalize on the Olympics with the Americanization of sports. (x)

Maria Paseka graciously swerved around depreciating questions of "lesser weaker teams" and insists that everyone is looking strong and could be a surprise threat. She's upfront about USA being as invincible (in TF) as their media portrays but assures us her team is ready to fight for every medal. Even though she's more experienced, just seeing all the stadium seats and decorations come together has her experiencing jitters. (x)

Five new elements have been submitted in MAG (x)

In RG, Tsvetelina Stoyanova (BUL) has moved to the neurosurgery department at the hospital in Sofia. She is still under treatment, but this move is promising, and indicates she will have a full recovery from her fall from the sixth floor of her apartment building.
